Job Title: Intern OperationsJob Code: INT008The 12-week NiSource Internship program starting May 18th, is a multi-faceted development experience that provides our interns with challenging and meaningful work that impacts the communities we serve. As a NiSource intern, you will have the opportunity to learn from senior leadership and build professional relationships with employees across our company. The NiSource Internship program also incorporates workshops to learn about NiSource, the energy industry and infuses learning and development opportunities that sharpen your professional skills. The robust program will aid in building the fundamentals needed to enter the energy workforce upon graduation.SummaryNiSource is currently seeking Summer Operations Interns in Columbus, OH and Merrillville, IN locations. Successful applicants will become integral members of the department while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with team members and leaders on important projects. These positions will be a great opportunity for the candidate desiring to launch their career in the Operations field. Successful applicants will build professional relationships with other interns and all levels of NiSource personnel while participating in rewarding professional development exercises and fun, team-building activities. Interns will obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesOpportunities are available in the following disciplines:Electric PlanningAssist in the planning, development, and implementation of the operations work plan in support of Power Delivery. Assist in data collection and reports to monitor programs, work plans, operating budgets, and forecasts in support of Power Delivery.Successful candidate to be currently enrolled in an accredited university with a major in business, accounting or engineering discipline.GIS EnvironmentalThe GIS Environmental Intern will support the Environmental Department in either Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN to research and gather environmental files in the public domain and add them to our Geographic Information System (GIS) for our service territory. Candidates with backgrounds in GIS application use or support, and GIS editing are encouraged to apply.Continuous ImprovementThe Transformation Office (TO) supports and coaches business-led Customer Value teams including business leaders, frontline workers and subject-matter experts to help the business build capabilities to identify ways to work smarter and more efficiently to unlock value for our customers. This role will assist the TO Consultants and Governance Lead positions through multiple activities.Required Qualifications for Position

Major in GIS, Engineering, Accounting, Operations Management, Business Management or related discipline.

Required GPA 3.0 and above.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Excellent analytical abilities, including process analysis and development, problem-solving and root-cause analysis.

Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship

Experience working independently

Strong verbal and written skills

Demonstrated problem analysis and solving
