The Pulte Institute for Global Development, an integral part of the Keough School of Global Affairs, combines the existing world-class teaching and research faculty of Notre Dame with a dedicated staff of experienced international development professionals, administrators, and researchers in order to address global poverty and inequality through policy, practice, and partnership.The Communications Program Director is responsible for Pulte Institute outreach and the communication of its mission to fight global poverty. The position manages Pulte Institute strategic communications, brand management, websites and social media, and drafting and editing written and promotional materials. The Communications Program Director works closely with the Pulte Institute Policy Impact Program Director, division directors, core affiliated faculty, program staff, and the Keough School director of communications and marketing. Key to this position is the alignment of the Pulte Institute's overarching strategic research themes, policy focus areas, and Pulte Institute communications and outreach activities.The position requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, excellent writing and editing, creative problem solving skills, and the ability to produce high-quality material with little direction, possibly on short timelines. Strategic leadership is required to provide proactive communications and content to coordinate the Pulte Institute's outreach efforts closely with faculty and the Keough School more broadly.Specific roles and responsibilities include:Strategy & Management: Oversees communications strategy and branding for the Pulte Institute that promotes research, teaching, and the impact of Pulte Institute initiatives in the world. Works closely with Pulte Institute staff and Keough School Dean's Office to design strategies to communicate with key stakeholders. Develops and manages the communications strategy for Pulte Institute outreach, including communications budgets, goals, and procedures. Assigns, monitors, and tracks metrics to inform the Institute's communications strategy.Communications: Oversees Pulte Institute communications efforts, including writing and editing content for Pulte communications materials, including website and social mediacontent, feature stories, newsletters, press releases, speeches, presentations, promotional material, and the Pulte Institute Annual Review. The position will also participate in the creation of video and photography for Pulte Institute marketing, working closely with the Keough School Dean's Office resources.Event Support: Works with the Pulte Institute Event Manager and the Policy Impact Program Director to strategically publicize Pulte Institute events and document event outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.Experience in communications, writing/editing, event marketing, and communications strategy. Higher education or other nonprofit communications experience preferred.High degree of independence and initiative required.Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally and build capacity among colleagues from culturally diverse backgrounds and in different settings.Exceptional English writing and editing skills required. Strong experience with Associated Press Style, Chicago Style, and APA Style.Strong experience with Microsoft Office and advanced word processing required.Ability to travel internationally if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-4 years of experience working communications, marketing, or related work.
