Special Needs Tutor
Autism Parent Care works with children with autism. We are seeking qualified individuals to work with these children in our beautiful, new center. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with children with autism is strongly preferred, but not required.
In this role you will be expected to work 1:1 with the child. You will implement a structured curriculum designed by a qualified consultant to teach language, social, play, academic, self-help and other skills typically deficient in children with autism. A positive attitude is a must. Preferred candidates will possess ample amounts patience and compassion, strong problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and exhibit a high degree of accuracy in data-keeping, and resilience in handling challenging behavior. You will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and will receive ongoing training opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Prepare tutoring sessions and assess the students' progress throughout tutoring sessions
Address students' academic needs
Provide academic assistance and study strategies to assigned students and prospective students
Teach students good study skills and habits
Share expertise and help students
Provide academic assistance to students in the areas of math and/or reading
Encourage students with sincere enthusiasm
Formulate a tutoring plan designed to address students' needs
Help students develop the study skills necessary for academic success
Improve reading, writing, and math skills
Motivate students and provide with confidence
