Accounting Administrator

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Administrative Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling accounting-related administrative tasks and assisting with the new client tax setup. This role also involves assisting in tax return administration duties and managing weekly garnishments. You will communicate effectively with state tax agencies and internal teams to setup and resolve any tax-related issues.Key Responsibilities:

Perform various accounting-related administrative tasks efficiently to support the accounting department.

Setup new clients’ taxes in the software, and complete State Unemployment, State Withholding, registration, and account closure forms.

Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual tax return admin duties, including preparing mailings.

Print, file, and mail weekly garnishment checks, tracking all transactions carefully.

Liaise with state tax agencies and internal teams, demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills, in addressing and resolving any tax-related discrepancies or issues.

Respond in a timely and effective manner to inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders such as the accounting and payroll departments, as well as clients and employees, in regards to state payroll taxes.

Maintain the highest standard for data confidentiality, particularly when dealing with sensitive information related to employee payroll taxes.

Assist in special projects, reconciliations, or other accounting-related tasks as needed, showcasing a team-focused attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Requirements

Previous experience in an accounting or payroll administrative role is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accounting software.

Highly organized, efficient, and keen attention to detail is critical in this role.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage projects.
