Successful candidates will be self-driven, highly motivated, team players, and be able to work effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will bring 2-4 years of multi-family real estate experience in either an Asset Management or Financial Analyst role, with technical experience using data analysis and financial modeling a big plus. The ideal candidate will also have 1-2 years of management experience, although it is not a requirement. The candidate will use their analysis skills and real world real estate experience to help leaders answer pressing business questions. This role works to understand every aspect of CYM’s financial performance by leveraging financial and operational data to gain insights on performance at every level – ranging from individual assets to the larger portfolio. The successful candidate will have the ability to analyze and draw conclusions from complex data sets, providing recommendations and developing solutions with our operations and field leaders, who will implement changes to drive results. This role will be highly cross-functional, working with every team in the company, and will require a natural leader inclined to ask questions, challenge the status quo and delve deeply into operational processes to solve problems and implement solutions. Highly effective and confident interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse audience, including senior executives, will be a critical success factor in this role.Responsibilities:
Develop technical skills to become an expert in business software (Excel, SQL, Business Intelligence Platforms)
Manage a dedicated Asset Management Analyst
Create, prepare, edit, and refine daily, weekly, monthly analytics to drive decision making
Use a data-backed approach to answer questions and spot trends
Run ad hoc projects/analysis to create strategic recommendations based on data analysis
Identify variances from benchmarks and the drivers of those variances
Create ad-hoc analyses to help managers/executives make more informed decisions
Prepare reports for management defining problem, evaluation, and possible solution
Constantly identify areas of improvement in the process and suggest/implement improvements
Ability to diagnose, research, and resolve technical issues independently or as a part of a team
Prepare and utilize budgets to ensure adherence to financial and operational plan
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in finance/economics, real estate, accounting, entrepreneurship, or related major required
Minimum 3.5 GPA
2-4 years of multi-family real estate experience, either as an Asset Manager or Financial Analyst
1-2 years of management experience including delivering annual performance reviews a big plus
Microsoft Office suite
Experience with Yardi, SQL, business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.) a huge plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to communicate effectively to all departments and levels of the organization
Must have the ability and willingness to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment
Strong desire to learn and take on responsibility quickly
