Manage the planning of new production parts through shop floor execution and shipment to the customer. Manage activities and inventory associated with the external warehouses supporting the Indianapolis production facility.
Execute procurement activities to provide for the necessary flow of purchased material into the plant to meet customer expectations
Resolve inventory rejections with suppliers as product non-conformances occur
Analyze and recommend for implementation planning parameters designed to improve production execution and inventory performance
Prepare and communicate feasible production plans with customer service, master scheduler, suppliers, and sourcing agents that meet customer expectations and in support of a collaborative team environment
Prioritize and expedite materials as needed through the supplier web portal and/or email communications to meet customer delivery expectations
Identify, develop and communicate process enhancements and best practices in the areas of capacity management, production planning, inventory management and inventory control
Provide data support and analysis that results in consensus on the action plans identified as part of Sales and Operations Planning process
Develop tools and metrics to assist the operations teams in daily monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives
Support/participate in New Product Commercialization (NPC) project teams to prepare and engage supply chain in the NPC process at the site
Analyze and plan for the execution of procurement and production orders that provide for prototype, new production and deliverable requirements to meet internal and external customer expectations.
Communicate and resolve material constraints and timeline projections in a collaborative manner to gain consensus on delivery performance.
Analyze and adjust inventory for the maintenance of the MRP system
Manage services with the external warehouse and third party packaging suppliers to provide operational support of receiving inspection, material storage, inventory control, repackaging, and order picking
Travel to conduct inventory audits at off-site locations or supplier visits as required
Provide planning and SAP configuration support for products transferring from affiliate plants
Required:
Bachelor of Science in a Business-related field
3-5 years relevant experience in production leadership, planning, purchasing, or a relevant supply chain function.
Previous scheduling or planning experience in process related industry.
In depth knowledge of SAP transactions and processes.
Experience with Demand Driven Operations, processes and metrics.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and/or verbal procedures, processes, and instructions.
General understanding of inventory management processes and tools.
Understand Demand Driven Operations tools, methodologies, and metrics.
Ability to master the utilization of MRP tools and methodologies.
Demonstrated computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP software.
Ability to work independent of direct supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with management and coworkers.
Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers.
Ability to complete the job without direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of self or others.
Demonstrated effort toward self-improvement by gaining new knowledge/skills and accepting new assignments.
