Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob DescriptionWe are a growing construction company with a strong client base and projects throughout the state of Indiana. We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent to join our team. A variety of construction experience is preferred, including multifamily experience. The first project will be a large retail store in Westfield, IN. The project consists of three buildings totaling 7,000 square feet, which is a ground-up project currently moving from Phase 3 to Phase 4. The next project will be totaling 10,000 square feet.Responsibilities
Create 2-4 week look-aheads
Use Auto Desk for all updates and documents
Oversee daily construction activities to ensure they align with the project timeline, budget, and specifications
Manage all on-site operations, including subcontractors, labor crews, and suppliers
Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies
Ensure that all work performed meets specified quality standards and the project’s design intent
Develop, update, and maintain daily and weekly work schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks
Address and resolve any on-site issues or delays, escalating concerns to the project manager when necessary
Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is informed of progress and any changes
Maintain accurate records of daily reports, site conditions, inspections, and all other required documentation
Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations
Organize site logistics, including deliveries, equipment rentals, and workforce allocation
Provide leadership to on-site personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Perform all other duties as assigned
Essential Skills
OSHA 30-hour certification
3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in commercial or multifamily construction, preferably as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
Proficient in construction management software and project tracking tools, such as Procore or Autodesk
Experience with ground-up projects of $1.5 million or more
Experience building 2-4 week look-aheads
Strong understanding of construction methods, blueprints, and project management principles
Proven ability to lead teams and subcontractors effectively on a construction site
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage conflict and resolve issues promptly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Experience with various types of projects (e.g., commercial, residential, institutional, industrial)
Work EnvironmentThis position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and being on-site for extended hours, including sometimes on weekends or evenings, depending on the project schedule. The role involves travel to job sites located in and around the Indianapolis market, with gas reimbursable for travel beyond the assigned project. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with time spent in an on-site trailer.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
