Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Logistics Engineer. This position is based at our Indianapolis, IN distribution center.The CI Logistics Engineer will work on designing solutions that optimize the flow of goods, information, and resources. This role will require a blend of analytical skills and practical knowledge to develop and improve logistics processes, ensuring that products are delivered to the right place, at the right time, and at the optimal cost.The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The CI Logistics Engineer is critical in minimizing waste, reducing expenses, and enhancing customer satisfaction throughout the distribution center. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in supporting strategic initiatives toward improving efficiencies across the facility.

Assisting with data collection and analysis for logistics operations.

Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Designing and implementing warehouse management systems to streamline inventory control, including slotting.

Developing transportation networks that improve delivery times and reduce environmental impact.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate logistics with business systems and processes.

Conducting research to stay informed of advancements in logistics technology and best practices.

Overseeing the implementation of new logistics / distribution solutions and monitoring their performance.

Assessing and managing risks associated with logistics activities to ensure business continuity.

Creating and maintaining documentation for logistics / distribution procedures, systems, and VSM’s and workflows.

Training staff on new logistics systems and protocols to ensure smooth operations.

Measuring, reporting, and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics/distribution activities.

Implementing innovative technologies / automation and systems to improve operations.

Overseeing large-scale logistics projects and initiatives, managing from concept to implementation

Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications:Required Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a distribution/ warehouse environment

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that reside within 50 miles of Indianapolis, IN will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years experience or higher in warehouse and/or distribution center environment

Project Management experience

Knowledge of Industry 4.0/Warehouse automation

Skills:

Must be able to work specific shift hours and have flexibility to work overtime based on location demand.

A natural problem solver with sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Demonstrated critical thinking and time management skills.

Experience with concept development, requirements analysis, and enterprise resource planning.

Experience in cost analysis

Proficient in MS Office and CAD
