Description We are offering a contract for a Controller position in Indianapolis, Indiana, within the non-profit sector. The primary function of your role will be to oversee financial accounting operations, maintain precision in financial records, and provide strategic financial solutions. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the preparation and submission of all financial statements and documents. Handle cash flow management for divisional bank accounts. Ensure accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. Serve as the primary liaison for financial statements, audits, operating budgets, tax returns, and other accounting functions. Oversee and manage the internal audits of divisional funds. Manage the reporting and paying of Indiana Sales Tax to the Indiana Department of Revenue. Review and release cash disbursements from divisional and unit bank accounts. Provide oversight for the budget preparation process of all funds. Manage independent audits, including notes to financial statements and the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA). Review reconciliations of bank statements included in the divisional and unit general ledgers. Provide operational management support for the cash flow position of bank accounts included in the divisional general ledgers. Serve as a bank account administrator and maintain a liaison position with the banks included in the divisional general ledgers. Assist in strategic planning to help provide sustainable financial solutions. Work in conjunction with the development department on fund raising initiatives and events as assigned. Requirements Proven expertise in Accounting Software Systems is crucial for this role Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is essential Mastery of Accounting Functions required Extensive experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary Proficiency in Auditing is a key requirement Understanding of Budget Processes is important Ability to manage Month End Close processes Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is desired Knowledge of Fund Accounting is essential Specific experience in Fund Accounting within a Non-Profit context is highly advantageous Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
