Lilly places a high value on fully automated manufacturing processes, as the quality and operational benefits are baseline expectations of new process design.Responsibilities:As the Corporate Building Automation System (BAS) Engineer, you will be designing and supporting multiple platforms including building management systems, qualified building management systems, primary and backup monitoring systems, and other site-wide platforms crucial to the manufacturing of medicine. Our facilities have integrated OT and IT integration enabling advanced data collection that will result in safety improvements, increased productivity, and variability reduction.Global Process Automation & Control Engineering (GPACE) is part of Lilly’s Corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC). GPACE provides automation, measurement, and process control solutions. GPACE is a technical resource for training, standards, capital project delivery, and Lilly’s standard automation platforms. GPACE’s primary customers are global manufacturing and development sites, Corporate IT, and peer groups such as Global Facilities Delivery (GFD).In addition, you will have the following Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Be a champion for health and safety, diversity/inclusion, ethics, and compliance.
Partner with Global Facilities Delivery and Architectural and Engineering firms to design, install, and qualify, BAS, Qualified BAS, and other site-wide systems.
Lead the design of these systems including sequence of operations, user access controls, automated alarm management, data capture and analysis, and operational procedures.
Lead the integration of these systems into the site data collection and SCADA layer.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science field
Minimum 2 years’ experience in automation or process control
Experience with Building Automation System (BAS)platforms such as Rockwell Automation, JCI Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell or similar platforms
Ability for design of the BAS control system
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Knowledge related to ISE S95 principles and IT/Automation integration
Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP industry
Experience in Microsoft operating systems, virtual environments, and networking
General understanding of Air Handling Units (AHU) and Fan Coil Unit (FCU) sequence of operations
Installation of platform software on virtual servers
Ability to integrate variable frequency drives to the control system
Ability to collaborate with mechanical designer on airflow and instrumentation diagrams (AF&ID)
Ability to interpret control wiring diagrams
Experience with Rockwell Automation Platforms including FactoryTalk View SCADA and ControlLogix PLC's or other similar Automation technologies.
Additional Information:This position will be initially based out of our Indianapolis Lilly Technology Center but could move to a specific project location.This position is a global role and both US and OUS travel is expected, generally not exceeding 10%.
