Whether you are an established professional in the transportation field or just starting your career, INDOT has exciting and challenging opportunities for you.  Role Overview: ​​​​​​As the Engineering Systems Digital Delivery Manager, you will have the opportunity to provide technical and people leadership during solutioning, development, implementation, and adoption of the Indiana Department of Transportation ’ s modernized civil design and construction management platform. You will be responsible for managing consultant and in-house technical resources and will lead collaboration efforts among key stakeholders. To be successful you will leverage your functional experience with civil design and construction management technology to manage software vendors and effectively direct production support staff. You will have the ability to imagine a new way to provide digital delivery through a major new platform implementation. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $93,002.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Define software and IT infrastructure requirements for the application software

Effectively uses resources to develop solutions

Direct information technology staff, resources, projects, and plans

Direct the development and implementation of information technology budgets, and/or related cost recovery methods

Direct the creation of feasibility studies and time and cost estimates

Plan and direct the acquisition and use of information technology products, services, and resources to meet the agency's mission, goals, and objectives

Develop and promulgate information technology policy and procedures

Manage the establishment of new or revised application systems and programs.

Assign personnel to projects and direct activities

Establish the major milestones and objectives for assigned projects and staff

Prepare performance reports and evaluates work

Confer with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods

Consult with personnel and management in other information systems sections to coordinate activities and ascertain technology needs

Prepare activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the applications systems and programming section.

What You'll Need for Success: You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:

Broad knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques used for application development

Broad knowledge of application development software tools and application development software languages

Broad knowledge of both system and business applications and competent to work at the highest technical level and/or specialized area

Broad knowledge of Information Technology

Broad knowledge of current and emerging information technologies

Broad knowledge of system design, including knowledge of logic, management principles and new system design techniques

Ability to supervise and manage diverse human resources

Ability to perform effective project management

Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing.
