This role is both dynamic and evolving, beginning with a primary focus on daily dispatch responsibilities. As you gain experience and familiarity with operations, the position will expand to include analytical and project management support for the entire Logistics team. Additionally, you may have opportunities to contribute to other logistics functions, such as production scheduling, transportation route planning and capacity planning. Across all areas, strong data analysis and problem-solving skills are essential for ensuring operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesEnsure all truckload shipments have assigned carriers, and resolve potential delivery issues to minimize customer disruptionsMaintain effective communication between manufacturing operations, customer service, home delivery agents and carriersResolve time-critical transportation and delivery issues utilizing cost effective methods.Assist with plant production scheduling, transportation route planning, or capacity planning functions.Help identify, support and/or lead efforts to solve problems and drive the deployment of logistics/supply chain best practices.Access, organize, and aggregate data from various data sources to allow for analysis and performance monitoring.Provide occasional analysis to support process improvement initiatives and key metric monitoring for the entire logistics team.Serve as an escalation point for customer service, manufacturing, sales, carriers and logistics.Identify and participate in initiatives to reduce waste and drive the deployment of best practices using lean tools and processes.Help guide tactical execution of work assignments within the team and assist with planning and facilitating team cross training.Collaborate with other functional areas to drive service excellence and continuous improvement.Up to 15% travel required
