Description We are in search of a Pharmacy Billing Specialist based in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is in the Healthcare industry and offers a long term contract employment opportunity. As a Pharmacy Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of pharmacy claims and ensuring timely collection of payments for pharmacy services.This opportunity offers on-site/in oiffice training for a few weeks, then the job will switch to full remote. This contract position is slated to last through the end of the year. There is a possibility the positoin could go permanent, but that is not guaranteed. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and submission of pharmacy claims to third party insurance carriers. Secure appropriate medical documentation as required by third party insurance carriers. Follow up with third party insurance carriers and patients on unpaid claims or balances. Research payer regulations and claim guidelines to ensure compliant billing practices. Verify insurance coverage for pharmacy services prior to services being rendered. Re-verify benefit coverage criteria as needed for claims follow up. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of steps taken to resolve claim issues are recorded in billing software(s). Communicate claim issues regularly and work collaboratively with the team. Assist in the establishment of weekly, monthly, annual goals and communicate associated progress as needed. Maintain patient billing records and produce billing reports as directed.Requirements Possess at least 3 years of experience in the field of Pharmacy Billing Hold proficiency in medical billing and pharmacy claim handling Have a solid understanding of medical claims procedures Familiarity with health insurance policies and insurance claims processing Experience in handling claim denials efficiently Knowledge of EOB (Explanation of Benefits) is required Demonstrated skills in collecting payments in a healthcare setting Ability to interpret and adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and standards Effective communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Proficient in using computer software and applications related to the role.
