Remote Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description Robert Half is assisting a Healthcare client of ours to secure a tenured Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in a fully remote environment. This specialist must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working Denied claims and insurance follow-up. This position does require previous experience working with EPIC, as EPIC training is not provided. This position is fast-paced and metrics based.This role is responsible for timely payment collection, efficient claim resolution, and precise financial record-keeping. The specialist will collaborate with insurance providers, patients, and internal teams to maximize revenue and adhere to billing standards.Daily Duties:

Full spectrum billing: Handle all aspects of billing, from initial claim submission to complex denial resolution.

Complex Claim Resolution: Address intricate accounts, including follow-up, appeals, and credit balance adjustments.

Proactive Claim Follow-Up: Pursue outstanding balances, investigate claim denials, and resolve issues by analyzing medical records, coding, and payer contracts.

Strategic Appeal Management: Craft persuasive appeal letters, advocate for claim reversals, and ensure compliance with billing and regulatory guidelines.

Efficient Claim Processing: Review daily clearinghouse rejections, identify trends, and take corrective action.

Meticulous Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient financial records, documenting all account activity.

Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation and ensure timely claim processing and reimbursement.

Diverse Payer Expertise: Handle claims across multiple payor types, including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Blue Cross, Title X, and more.

Strategic Account Management: Prioritize aged accounts, coordinate denial and appeal projects, and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).

Effective Communication: Foster strong relationships with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate claim submission.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant medical account receivable experience

Previous experience in EPIC

Previous experience using ICD-10 Medical Coding and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)

Knowledge of medical terminology

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
