Research Scientist Intern

Job DescriptionThe WSR (Wireless System Research) lab in Intel Labs is seeking an undergraduate intern in the area of Wide Area Cloud (WAC) research. The WAC research investigates, designs, and develops the system framework, algorithms, and solutions to provide integrated communication and computing services to ensure end-to-end (UE to App) QoS for the users.The key issues this research include:

Continuum orchestration: Network/communication-aware workload orchestration, dynamic workload scheduling, security-aware orchestration, etc.

End-to-end QoS control, and communication and computing resource co-optimization.

Service-aware and multi-stream data transportation.

Research responsibilities of intern will include development and validation of emerging WAC solutions. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker, and creative problem solver with strong programming skills. The candidate will be expected to interact with researchers within Intel Labs and internal product groups to develop and transfer technologies.QualificationsYou must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in related field.

6+ months experience in below areas:

C, C, Python (working knowledge), MATLAB, Linux

Digital Signal Processing; Data Structures

Cloud-native architecture, Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

x86 assembly

This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
