Dining Services employs close to 100 employees on campus serving over 400 seniors in Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Cook (Float) position. The position is:
Cook (Skilled Nursing)
Every other weekend off
Float between shifts, schedules posted 3-4 weeks in advance.
You'll primarily be on the 11a-8p shift, but will sometimes float to the 8:30a-5p shift
Pay starts at $17.50/hr plus up to $2/hr additional based on experience. There is also a $1/hr shift differential for the PM shift (after 3pm) and a further $1/hr shift diff on the weekends. We offer full benefits including what will most likely be the most generous PTO you've gotten in the food industry. The kitchen you'll be working in is our skilled nursing kitchen, but we do more scratch cooking than our competitors as well. Our ideal candidate has previous healthcare cooking experience, but previous cooking experience outside of healthcare is great as well! We want someone reliable with transportation and the ability to get here on time consistently. One perk of this industry over restaurants is that you're out the door no later than 8pm, which is much better than the 2am you'll see working a line!
Our dining services program is run by individuals with culinary and pastry degrees, a closet full of culinary awards, and decades of experience in the industry. We love to innovate and try new things, but we understand our population and try to cater to their needs and tastes. Our cooks are the heart of our operation and make sure that the food that goes to our residents matches their nutritional needs.
