Acara is hiring for a 1st Shift Facilities Technician in Plainfield, IN
This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Facilities Technician, you could be responsible for:
Maintains and repairs facilities and equipment
Hands-on troubleshooting of equipment such as conveyors, stretch wrappers, and carton erectors
Preventive maintenance throughout the distribution center
General and detailed maintenance including patching, painting, hardware repairs and other repair / replacement work as required
Cleans and assists with upkeep of facility and grounds
Other miscellaneous maintenance and facility support tasks

Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting
Preventative maintenance processes
Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
Schedule:
1st shift: Monday-Friday 6am to 2:30pm (Some Saturdays are Mandatory depending on workload)
Pay Rate: $20 an hour

Required Skills / Qualifications:
1+ years' demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance, preferable in distribution center
Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude
Working knowledge of safety protocols for electrical, mechanical and maintenance work
Able to work independently
Demonstrates initiative
You have a good work ethic, coming to work every day and on-time
You are able to work with a diverse group of people
You are energetic and self-motivated
You care about the quality of work that you do every day
Able to climb stairs and ladders, working from heights up to 45 feet
Must be able to work in a cold environment for extended period and occasionally in extreme cold
You are able to work overtime when needed
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
You are able to learn and apply policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
You have basic math and reading skills and basic computer operation skills
You are able to receive, understand and accurately respond to questions and direction from supervisors/managers and other company personnel
Able to drive powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check upon hiring
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
General warehouse experience
Ability to have good communication skills both written and oral
Open to be certified and use reach truck
