Interesting Non-Boring Position with time split between hands on work involving setup and operation of Toolroom Equipment such as Bridgeport Mills, Toolroom Lathes, Hurco & Fadal CNC Machining Centers (Milling), Press Brakes with CNC Back Control and without, and various other toolroom equipment. We are a growing fabrication and stamping company in a growth mode. Along with our base of medium run production work, we have set up a new division using various fabrication equipment to do smaller run jobs. We are getting busy with that division and are looking to do more Toolroom (Detail) work handling parts in quantities of 1 to perhaps a couple dozen. These parts are generally fabrication parts or machined parts or sometimes a combination of both. We have just installed a welding setup for this type of work to support this type of work as well. There are times that we need to build small dies or do die repair work on large die sets and this would be part of the job as well.
We are comfortable with both Full Time and Part Time with flexible hours although they would need to be Monday through Friday with work hours sometime between 7am and 330pm. We would be open to an experienced retired toolroom or general machinist that is looking to do a few days per week. Alternatively, we would be open to a recent trade school graduate that may have some shop experience during school. We have skilled people on that can help mentor the right individual.
In this position, we need help in quoting a large number of requests coming in daily. You should be able to read prints and know how a job should be set up to run. Basis spreadsheet skills would be helpful but can be taught in terms of mathematical quoting. You would need to be comfortable running these small quantities of parts. Multitasking skills are helpful when running longer cycle time parts which would allow additional set up work or a second parts running situation. Designing and building your own tools and fixtures is a requirement, perhaps not initially but has to be grown into depending upon experience.
Excellent pay and benefits which are available above a certain part time number of hours worked. There will be a wide variety of parts with occasional repeat jobs but not very often.
