Scenic Carpenter
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Scene Shop manager, design and construct scenic and prop elements for productions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Welding, cutting, and drilling steel.
2. Woodworking.
3. Other basic construction work.
4. Other job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Prior work experience in Theatre and/or Dance scene shop preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and follow direction.
Excellent woodworking and scenic skills.
Experience and skill in various types of scenic construction; wood, metal, plastics, etc.
Knowledge of all tools used in the scene shop.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with carpentry, fabrication, and prop making skills.
