Information Center Assistant (Part-time)
Central Iowa based R&D / Engineering Library seeking a Part-Time Information Center Assistant (20hrs)
per week for current opening. This position will provide support for a document management and
research services for a diverse group of internal and external clients. Training provided. ($18-$25 per
hour.)
Essential Job Functions:
1. First line of customer support for Information Center requests.
2. Document and Standards Management and Control in accordance internal practices and
external third-party standards and certification processes.
4. Collection management and services: books, serials, external research reports, ILL, etc.
5. Research Interest in technology and business research using internally available resources.
6. Basic Website maintenance
7. Potentially serve as training lead for information center resources.
Education / Experience Required:
Education: Minimum 2 years college; preferred Bachelors degree in relevant area; desired
Masters in Information / Library Science.
Experience: Preference for those with Library / Information / Archives /Records experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Understanding of basic management processes for records management/document systems.
Understanding and prior use of content management solutions, SharePoint etc.
Ability to work independently with a given set of instructions.
Ability to problem solve within the scope of tasks being performed
Basic understanding and use of Microsoft Office tools
Basic understanding and interest in website design and updating
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. when needed and reach overhead to replace documents on shelf.
