Upfit Assembly Technician

DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a talented Upfit Assembly Technician to join our Upfit production facility in Des Moines (Ankeny), IA.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Install value-added components to loose engines and generators to meet customer requirements and design specifications.

Light production assembly, including: drilling, bolting and light fabrication.

Interpret basic installation drawings and work as a team to accomplish installations.

Ability to read detailed equipment and part diagrams/prints (including 2D and 3D drawings) of Cummins and OEM products and verify torque values referenced from established engineered guidelines.

General shop maintenance such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, general maintenance, daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports, welder inspections and daily time sheets.

Comfortable working at heights using fall protection and proper PPE.

RESPONSIBILITIESTo be successful in this role you will need the following:

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Ability to work in an automotive shop / manufacturing setting and use power tools to remove / install external diesel engine and generator components

Mechanical knowledge, Automotive repair and Assembly experience preferred.

Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent time management skills and intermediate level computer skills.

Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position does not require any Department of Transportation (DOT) related pre-screenings.
