Job Summary:The Wastewater Specialist maintains all plant wastewater operations including troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank, air compressors, making adjustments to polymer feed rates and Ph or water to meet city specifications, performing all required planned maintenance and performing safety checks on assigned equipment promptly observing plant safety and GMP standards. You will report to the Maintenance Team Leader. You will work onsite at the Council Bluffs location.Essential Job Functions:
Work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
Regular attendance to ensure production requirements are met
Read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
Knowledge of basic hand/power tools
Knowledge of Planned Maintenance
Complete work/purchase requests
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain plant wastewater operations
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair well pumps, rotary screens, gravity separation tank (e.g., electrical, motors, controls, and floats)
Monitor and adjust polymer feed rates
Make adjustments to water Ph to ensure it is within city specifications
Maintain plant air compressors
Perform required PM on all required equipment (e.g., filters, coolants, gauges, valves, and lubrication)
Perform required safety checks for equipment (e. g, SCBA tanks, safety harness, ammonia cartridges)
Help with startup and shut down of engine room
Skills Required:
Basic troubleshooting
Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP's, confined spaces
Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Be LOTO/PIT/HAZMAT certified
Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Environmental Technologies.Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in waste water maintenance or similar field required.
