As a Clinic Support Worker, you will be a member of the Patient Care Team supporting the delivery of healthcare by providing clinical care and administrative support as delegated by professional clinical staff. You will follow up on patient identified goals, identify and match patient needs with community resources, provide interpretation and translation services, and advocate for culturally diverse patients. Enjoy work-life balance with a stable work schedule. Typical schedule will be Monday 8 AM - 5 PM, Tuesday 8 AM - 5 PM, Wednesday 8 AM - 8 PM, Thursday 8 AM - 5 PM, and Friday 8 AM - 12 PM. May be asked to participate in Saturday rotation 9 AM - 1 PM approximately every 6 - 8 weeks.

What You'll be Doing
Performs basic clinical duties such as rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, height, weight, and collection of basic patient intake questions and data in the clinic or on the telephone. Participates in initial patient data gathering of patient information and goals as instructed.
Follows up on identified issues such as assisting patients with making appointments, establishing expectations for patients’ follow-up appointments, communicating care instructions and serving as a liaison between patients and care team, ensuring connection and engagement. Responds to referrals for assistance from, and facilitates referrals to, PHC clinics, community agencies, and other resources. Refers patients to the Health Benefit Specialist when appropriate.
Provides interpreting and/or translating services as requested.
Reports normal results and pertinent information to patients as directed by the professional clinical staff. Maintains documentation of patient contacts in compliance with PHC policies. Enters various data following procedures & protocols and management of the electronic medical record.
Facilitates interdisciplinary communication. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing and analyzing patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family.
Prepares exam rooms in accordance with established infection control protocols. Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas. Provides cross coverage for other clinic functions within the scope of the position and for which competency has been determined.
Qualifications You Need to Bring
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 1 year experience in human services, healthcare, interpretation, translation, or related field or at least 6 months experience with PHC.
Experience working with and knowledge of community resources, including entitlement programs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to speak a second language (i.e., Spanish, Burmese, Nepali, etc.) and translate language in writing.
Basic computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office applications plus ability to learn and use software applications including practice management systems and electronic medical records.
Data entry skills.
Customer service skills.
Demonstrates professionalism with ability to remain calm in all situations and show empathy.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Licenses & Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; Current Mandatory Reporter Training: Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse recognized by the State of Iowa

Your experience and skills determine your base pay. The hiring range for this position is typically $15.50 - 19.50 per hour. Candidates with extensive work experience related to this position may be considered for additional compensation up to the pay grade maximum of $23.25 per hour.
