This hands-on position will require adjusting claims and overseeing the adjusting of the third party claim adjusters. The goal through daily communication with store personnel and adjusters is to provide an efficient system to get employees back to work quickly with minimal time loss, at a managed cost. Reporting Relations:Accountable and Reports to: Director Risk Management; Director Claims ManagementPositions that Report to you: NonePrimary Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors and evaluates daily incoming workers’ compensation claim activity to maintain a proactive, aggressive approach to claim adjustment. Provides direction and feedback to claims adjusters and stores regarding progress of non-litigated claims.
Assist in managing/adjusting auto and general liability claims.
Maintains constant communication with stores.
Provides feedback to stores regarding unsafe work conditions and Personal Protective Equipment programs, if available and pertinent to the loss.
Compiles and maintains list of employees off work and requests leaves of absence when necessary.
Adjusts auto physical damage claims for subsidiaries and warehouses.
Communicates with general public, insurance companies, and agents in regards to claim questions.
Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree with three years’ experience or an Associate’s degree with five years’ experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Substantial knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and state jurisdictions is required.
Working knowledge of General Liability and Auto claim adjusting is preferred.
Knowledge of modern office software suites is also required.

Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting.
