About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Credit Risk Officer within Home Lending Servicing Risk (HLSR), a part of the Home Lending Chief Risk Office (CRO) team. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com .The Lead Credit Risk Officer is responsible for providing risk oversight of Home Lending Servicing, with a focus on the areas of Account Resolution (Collections) and Customer Service contact centers and Home Equity Line management operations. This HLSR professional will partner with Home Lending Servicing leadership, serving as key risk advisor for all risk types, including credit risk.In this role, you will:
Review business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and utilize risk knowledge to issue resolutions on Servicing projects and initiatives
Use subject matter expertise and business knowledge to provide independent risk oversight and credible challenge on Front Line servicing process, emerging trends, and issues
Provide risk expertise and consulting to Home Lending Servicing, including the development of corrective action plans and effectively managing change
Collaborate with IRM partners to understand risk exposure in RAU coverage areas of Account Resolution and Customer Service, and Home Equity Line management operations
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of strategy, policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Ability to work independently to meet risk area, projects and process deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the risk policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Lead and manage multiple concurrent initiatives
Work independently, and may partner with other risk professionals or business leaders to coordinate risk reporting or materials or mitigate risk for coverage areas
Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk
Review and analyze complex strategies, programs and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture
Receive direction from leaders
Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with internal and external customers
Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management
Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Technical experience in SAS, SQL, or Tableau
Home lending experience with subject matter expertise in processes and risks associated with Contact center operations for Account Resolution (Collections) and Customer Service or other default servicing areas
Ability to analyze data or information, and summarize insights, and formulate recommendations based on review
Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (both written and verbal) with business partners, peers and management and lead discussions.
Ability to effectively identify, evaluate, aggregate, and challenge risks - balancing the impact to customers, business, and bank.
Ability to work independent, and seek direction when appropriate; ability to formulate independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principles
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to research and analyze options and impacts of solutions, and recommend alternatives
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Knowledge of Home Lending servicing systems, tools, and automated decisioning tools
Experience within other Independent Risk Management areas
