OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior PL-SQL Developer. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA. This position will also provide the possibliy of a hybrid remote work schedule.Responsibilities
Create and maintain complex PL/SQL packages spanning multiple schemas.
Create and maintain web pages using Oracle MOD PL/SQL packages
Maintain the existing applications and enhance the system as per client requirements.
Extensive Oracle database experience
Modify existing batches to incorporate new functionalities.
UNIX Shell scripting
Analyze system issues and devise and execute remediation plans.
Perform code reviews and bug fixing.
Conduct performance tuning of existing queries and packages.
Comply with all required standards and processes and devise approaches to ensure compliance across the team.
Provide complete technical and maintenance support to the systems.
Run the assigned projects solo as well as working as a team.
Provide round-the-clock support as needed for the assigned tasks.
UNIX, MS Windows Server experience
Use of Oracle, Java, PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, SQL Developer, JDeveloper, JBuilder, Shell Scripting, UNIX, and Linux.
Interact directly with the customer on behalf of the team to resolves issues or identify new requirements to be addressed by the team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, with 10 years (or commensurate experience)
10 plus years of experience in IT
7-8 years of PL/SQL development experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understanding and knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
Exhibit confidence and knowledge in solving problems
Work well independently and within a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent time management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge
Clearance required: Ability to obtain/maintain a public trust
Must have been within the US for the last 5 years
Preferred Experience
3-5 years of Java-related development experience
SQL Server database experience
Microstrategy or Business Objects Reporting experience
Other database experience
