Job SummaryTo emulate the mission, vision, and values of Jennie Stuart Medical Center by assessing the educational need of the staff. To plan, develop coordinate, implement, and evaluate clinical orientation and continuing education programs.Essential FunctionsDevelop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and certified nursing assistants.Develops and manages courses/content in the learning management system.Assist with development, facilitation, and evaluation of competency program.Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, which may include licensed and non-licensed personnel.Collaborates with representatives of other professions to create, manage, implement, coordinate and evaluate continuing nursing education.Participation in evidence-based practice, and quality improvement activities.Promote research, evidence-based practice, quality improvement in patient care settings.Conduct, encourage, facilitate and practice in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement, including dissemination of findings.Collaborate with multiple healthcare personnel from different professional backgrounds collaborating to deliver the highest quality of care.Provides support and serves as a backup to the other members of the department.Required SkillsMinimum Education Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from either American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Willing to obtain instructor's certification with American Heart Association within one year after obtaining a position. Required ExperienceMinimum Work ExperienceFive years of clinical experience in a hospital setting is required. Proven strong assessment and technical skills with excellent communication and analytic thinking capabilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word software required. Experience in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint preferred. Required Licenses[ Kentucky, United States ] Registered Nurse Currently licensed by the State of Kentucky or compact state as a registered nurse.
