Description Robert Half is working with a renowned construction company currently on the lookout for an experienced Accounting Clerk. This role involves carrying out various accounting and bookkeeping tasks, with a particular focus on the construction industry. Perform routine clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting duties including posting of transactions, account reconciliation and reporting.
Handle accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, issuing payments and follow-up on outstanding balances.
Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.
Facilitate timely and accurate month-end closings and produce monthly financial statements.
Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
Comply with all Federal, state, and local legal requirements by understanding existing and new legislation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Accounting Clerk, preferably within the construction industry.
Proficient understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Solid data entry skills with an knack for numbers.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
Familiarity with construction industry procedures, rules, and regulations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with fine attention to detail.
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
