Description Robert Half has an opening in a department for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk will primarily be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract to full time position located in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.What you get to do every day
Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources
Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Organize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
Post financial figures to journals and ledgers
Requirements
Strong familiarity with 3 Way Matching
LEED Accounts Payable experience preferred
Numeric data entry experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Excellent data entry skills
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
