Supplemental InformationServes on a custodian crew providing services for the Department of Residential Life maintaining over 1,900,000 square feet in residence halls and apartments housing over 5,000 students at the state's only comprehensive, Class 1 Research University with over 25,000 students and 4,500 full time faculty and staff. High degrees of public contact and interaction with staff and students. Frequent contacts with general public through support provided for continuing education programs, seminars, institutes, workshops and conferences. Minimum QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.Job ConceptsFUNCTION OF WORK:To perform manual tasks in order to maintain the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings, facilities, institutions, etc.LEVEL OF WORK:Experienced.SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General from a Custodian Supervisor A. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:None.LOCATION OF WORK:All state agencies.JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Custodian 1 by the presence of experienced-level custodial tasks.Differs from Custodian 3 by the absence of advanced-level custodial tasks.Examples of WorkEXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.Empties and decontaminates trash containers.Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
