Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest growing rental business in North America, is seeking a Diesel Equipment Field and Shop Technicians to work at customer sites or our facility with a shop location of Geismar, LA or in Plaquemine, LA, your choice.
The role performs basic diagnostics and equipment repairs at the client site or our shop in the safest and most effective way possible with an emphasis on returning equipment to service to avoid equipment down time. Types of equipment our Technicians work on may include: large-scale power-generators, industrial HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment or heavy construction equipment.

Monday-Friday, 7 am to 5 pm schedule with 1 week of after-hours, on-call rotation once per month

Pay rates:
Geismar, LA Field Technician: $20.76 - $26.51 (requires traveling to client sites)
Plaquemine, LA Shop Technician: $18.45 - $25.36
Plaquemine, LA Field Technician: $21.86 - $30.06 (requires traveling to client sites)

Requirements:
At least 3 yearsof mechanic experience with diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment like large-scale generators, compressors, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment
Own set of basic tools
Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record
Willingness to submit to a background check and motor vehicle records check
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities you may rely on:
Understanding of basic refrigeration (EPA Certified), electrical engines and controllers
Familiar with operation of dehumidification equipment from CDI and munters
Knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater and Shoring; possesses an understanding of diesel equipment, generators and air compressors
Understands compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/aftercooler)
Able to read electric schematics and hydraulic flow drawings or willing to learn
