Together, we can build what matters!Crib Attendant needed at The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN. The Crib Attendant position is intended to maintain inventory in the Caterpillar tool crib through material disbursements and receipts.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Performs training of new Crib Attendants and ensures training records are completed and submitted to the Crib Supervisor.

Utilizes routine inventory and order reports to resolve grief and reports results to the Crib Supervisor and Tool Control daily.

Coordinates and ensures completion of cycle counts weekly, records cycle count results, investigates discrepancies and sends reports to the Crib Supervisor and Tool Control.

Pull material and verify on-hand counts as requested by Tool Control or the Crib Supervisor.

Performs inventory count adjustments.

Coordinates, delegates, and/or performs of dated material audits monthly and ensures records and submitted to the Crib Supervisor.

Ensures repaired parts are correctly received and put into storage daily. Consults with on-site repair contractor, Tool Control, and Maintenance Planners as needed to ensure accurate completion.

Assists with USO requests from the Crib Supervisor or Tool Control.

Notifies shop personnel when special-order and backordered items have arrived.

Capable of working within computerized system autonomously to receive, disburse, update locations, and verify requisitions of crib material.

Capable of searching for part numbers using computerized system.

Utilize order picker, stand-up fork-lift (reach truck), and sit-down propane fork-lift.

Moving, handling, and repalletizing of crib materials, including hazardous chemicals.

Assist internal customers trying to locate the appropriate material through system searches. Also assist internal customers to properly order material as needed.

Works with IT Department Help Desk to resolve problems related to Crib PCs or printers.

Ensures Crib cleanliness is maintained.

Participates in planning and execution of continuous improvement projects related to the Crib.

Basic Qualifications:

Previous experience operating stand-up (reach truck) and sit-down fork truck required.

Previous experience loading and unloading warehouse-style pallet racking is required.

Must demonstrate good math skills and be computer literate.

Must have good oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to accept change and have a positive approach to customer service is a must for this assignment.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed to support production needs.

Top Candidates will also have:

Strong familiarity with the Caterpillar Lafayette manufacturing and warehouse environment.

The ability to demonstrate leadership skills.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.

Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.

All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.

Must be able to work in heights and confirmed spaces

Additional Information:

This position is in Lafayette, IN.

Shift hours: 3rd (3:30pm - 11:30pm) Monday - Friday.

Additional OT may be required Monday – Friday.

Rotating schedule for mandatory OT on Saturdays.

Attendance will be mandatory during bi-annual facility maintenance shutdowns.
