Description Robert Half is on the lookout for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to be an integral part of our client's team. In this role, you will be tasked with the administration, design, and optimization of relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on MSSQL and MySQL databases in cloud environments. The role also involves a strong emphasis on database security and compliance, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and company policies. This is a Direct Hire role that will require onsite work (5 days with flexibility).Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain databases and corresponding software to guarantee performance, security, and high availability
Execute database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations
Architect scalable, reliable, and secure database solutions
Monitor database activities and performance, troubleshooting any issues that arise
Enhance database performance via indexing, query optimization, and adherence to best practices
Utilize automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure provisioning
Develop and maintain scripts for automated database tasks, monitoring, and reporting
Guarantee compliance of database environments with security policies and industry regulations
Implement and enforce robust database security practices, including access controls and encryption
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver database solutions.
Requirements
Proven experience in database administration and design, with a focus on management and performance optimization.
Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
Experience with Windows and Linux servers.
Knowledge of automation scripting (Python preferred, open to others).
Previous experience with virtualization and cloud technologies.
Degree and certifications preferred but not required.
