2025-2026 Director of Student Support

The Director of Student Support impacts students’ lives by:

Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the school

Managing the Dean of Intervention, culture team, mental health, and student health team, as well as their workstreams

Working in coordination with the Director of Special Education to increase student achievement for students not served by the regular education program, both academically and behaviorally.

Achieving dramatic and consistent improvement in the academic performance of students with exceptionalities

Ensuring that the school complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing students with exceptionalities

Creating systems for tracking data on student progress, both behaviorally and academically

Using data to evaluate the strength of our academic and behavioral programs

Supporting and leading professional development and growth of faculty, especially with regard to supporting students for whom the regular education program is not sufficient

Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement

Using leadership feedback and goal-setting to improve daily practice

Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events

Have a BA or BS degree

Possess LA Special Education Certification or be willing to undergo training to increase expertise in this area

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
