In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the New Orleans, Louisiana region.Major responsibilities

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection Requirements

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA a plus

Prior work done in public accounting is desired as is construction based accounting

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

CPA/MBA preferred

Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Strong familiarity with Job Cost

Cost accounting experience preferred

Supervisory Construction Accounting experience

Month end closings experience preferred
