General Superintendent – Convention Center Construction ProjectPosition Overview
The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction operations for a convention center project. This role involves managing on-site activities, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project schedules, and delivering high-quality results within budget. The General Superintendent will lead the construction team, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure effective communication between stakeholders to achieve project objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily construction site operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently and in compliance with project plans and specifications.Maintain construction schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Managers and stakeholders.Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues promptly.Collaborate with the project team to address any design or construction challenges.Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and other regulatory standards.Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for on-site personnel.Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe work environment.Lead and mentor the construction team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.Resolve conflicts and ensure effective communication among team members and subcontractors.Provide guidance and support to ensure team members perform at their best.Monitor project budgets and control costs to avoid overruns.Manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency.Approve and track change orders, ensuring alignment with project goals.Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.Represent the company at project meetings and ensure client satisfaction.About Construction Management – AECOM HuntFounded in 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana, AECOM Hunt has been building for over 80 years.
