Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist for our client based in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role is centered around the management and processing of payroll, utilizing various accounting software systems. The employment opportunity offers a long-term contract. The role is primarily situated within the financial services industry.Responsibilities: Utilize and maintain various accounting software systems effectively Process and manage payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Handle and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees Oversee and execute auditing activities related to payroll and accounting Carry out accounting functions, including the management of sales tax Manage payroll garnishments as per applicable laws and regulations Maintain and update employee payroll records Utilize Ceridian and Dayforce for payroll processing and management Oversee and manage benefit functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations Use 'About Time' software for efficient time tracking and managementRequirements Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems Demonstrated experience with Ceridian and Dayforce Familiarity with About Time software Strong understanding of Accounting Functions Proven experience in Auditing Knowledge of Benefit Functions Experience in handling Payroll - Garnishments Understanding of Sales Tax regulations and procedures Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem-solving and communication skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong numerical skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Relevant certifications in Payroll or Accounting would be advantageousRobert Half puts you in the best position to succeed by advocating on your behalf and promoting you to employers.   • Summary This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, National Finance Center, Government Employee Services Division (GESD), Mainframe Applications Directorate (MAD) in New Orleans, LA. The incumbent will serve as a team member responsible for providing application programming support for new, redesigned or Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Responsibilities Serves as a project/technical lead for work involving the full range of applications development activities for software projects. Designs, normalizes, develops, installs and implements databases to include maintaining, monitoring, performance tuning, backup, and recovery of databases. Developing and maintaining programs using Common Business-Oriented Language (COBOL). Tests computer applications and programs, to include developing application and program test plans specifying its methodology and constraints. Manages frequently shifting work request priorities to design, program, test, modify, refine, and integrate a related group of software programs with shared data and attributes.
