Description Qualified accountants in the New Orleans, Louisiana area should submit an application for Robert Half's open Senior Accountant position. Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)
Ad-hoc projects as required
Arrange monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong time management and organizational skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
Oracle experience
Deep understanding of month end closings
Account reconciliation experience desired
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Expertise in journal entries
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Ability to meet deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired
ERP system experience
A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
