Come join our school lunch program at Boucherie! We are looking for a hard-working, motivated, self-disciplined prep-cook /cook to work onsite at one of our school lunch locations with our unique school lunch program. Boucherie's school lunch program serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks to students in schools throughout the great New Orleans metropolitan area. Boucherie welcomes applicants who are looking for a unique opportunity with desirable hours. Applicants are required to complete a background check, first aid certified, and the completion of a mandatory reporter class.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Service: Prepare/Cook foods that are delivered to our schools for students and staff in an efficient and friendly manner.
Sanitation & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment, following food safety standards.
Inventory & Supplies: Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing prepared foods. Report shortages to manager.
Compliance: Follow school district and health department guidelines for food preparation, portion control, and waste management.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Customer Service: Interact with staff in a respectful and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Previous food service experience (preferred, but not required)
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (or willingness to be trained)
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Work Schedule:
Hours Range :Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Follows the school calendar, with summers and holidays off (varies by school)
