The starting rate for this position is: $33.43/hr Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and the supervision of the OR Supervisor, the RN Resource is responsible for the following: performing circulating and /or scrub nurse duties in the Operating Room, acting as a resource for nursing staff, surgeons and Anesthesia providers, preparing rooms in the morning, giving staff breaks as needed, working closely with Case Cart and Supply Chain Technician with ordering specialty supplies and preparing case carts. The RN will provide direct patient care in accordance to AORN standards and SJH/Covenant policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining a safe surgical environment, acts as a resource for Carelink documentation, acts as a liaison between SPD and OR, fiscal management of supplies and materials, participates in turnover cleaning and room set up, continues education development for themselves and new employees, preceptorships for nursing students and active involvement in performance improvement activities. The RN may also provide back-up assistance to the Charge Validator and/or OR Supervisor position and maintain/edit preference cards. This position does not require on call hours. However, in the event of a significant staffing shortage, this individual may be asked to cover call hours as needed for a limited time. Requirements Experience: 3-5 years experience preferred Licensure(s): Active Maine State licensure for RN’s Certification(s):
CNOR is mandatory
RN’s BLS upon hire
ACLS & PALS preferred and is strongly encouraged
