Resp & QualificationsPURPOSEThe Sr. Data Scientist is responsible for managing health equity data governance and advancing data initiatives across the enterprise. This role plays a critical part in supporting and advancing health equity and public health initiatives by acting as the liaison between various data system leads across the organization. The position also involves providing operational governance oversight, offering advisory support in identifying control improvements and governance opportunities, and coordinating internal audits. Additionally, the Sr. Data Scientist utilizes numerical techniques, algorithms, and models in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining to address business challenges and support enterprise-wide data science initiatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage Health Equity Data Governance: Oversee the development and implementation of data governance frameworks that support health equity. Ensure alignment of data governance policies and practices with organizational health equity and public health initiatives.
Advance Enterprise Data Initiatives: Lead and coordinate efforts to advance data initiatives across the enterprise, ensuring that data-driven strategies align with the organization's health equity goals. Collaborate with various stakeholders to drive the adoption of data tools and techniques that enhance public health outcomes.
Liaison Between Data System Leads: Serve as the key liaison between different data system leads across the enterprise. Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure that data systems are integrated and effectively support health equity and public health objectives.
Operational Governance Oversight: Provide advisory support in identifying control improvements and governance opportunities. Coordinate and conduct internal operational/process-level audits to ensure compliance and alignment with business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education Level : Bachelor's Degree, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field OR In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.Experience : 5 years of relevant work experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Ability to work independently without detailed guidance.
Ability to communicate effectively and document objectives and procedures.
Ability to leverage a variety of data science tools and frameworks.,
Knowledge in model evaluation, tuning and performance, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques
Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
Proficiency in statistical modeling applications.
Proficiency in advanced SQL in multiple syntaxes.
Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging. Salary Range : $98,064 - $194,766
