The ideal candidate for this position can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes are also expected tasks. Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong familiarity with account reconciliation
Quickbooks Online experience desired
Expertise in month end closings
Month-end Journal Entries experience
Journal entries experience
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
