Sapwood Cellars is an established brewery looking to enhance the taproom experience by adding a food service component. Operating out of a brand-new kitchen, we are seeking an ideal candidate who possesses a passion for high-quality food to complement our beer offerings. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the kitchen staff in compliance with food safety standards, while working closely with the General Manager to deliver quality products within feasible margins.
General Responsibilities
- Assist in hiring and scheduling kitchen staff.
- Train kitchen staff and uphold quality standards.
- Ensure proper preparation and presentation of all food products.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and among staff.
- Establish and maintain inventory controls and food ordering processes.
- Assist in sourcing products and pricing menu items.
- Help create specials and seasonal menu options.
- Monitor kitchen finances to identify potential areas for cost reduction.
- Collaborate and contribute to the overall direction of the establishment.
Required Abilities for Success
- Relevant work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Head Chef.
- Hands-on experience with menu planning and ingredient ordering.
- Knowledge of a diverse range of recipes.
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong conflict management abilities.
- Capability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Certifications: Must be ServSafe certified by the time the kitchen opens.
