Machine Operator and Programmer/Machinist

JG Edelen is an established 100-year-old company that provides metal goods to the hospitality and construction industries. We are looking for a friendly, energetic individual to join our team of professionals at our East Baltimore office.

The primary responsibility of the Machine Operator is to set up and operate various metal fabrication machines. This is a very fast-paced work environment that requires the ability to analyze information in order to match the needs of the job to the correct fabrication model. Daily responsibilities include:

Analyzing specification charts, samples, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of fabrication requirements

Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications

Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts

Setting up and operating machines and equipment such as: CNC punches, CNC lasers, press brakes, saws, deburring

machines, mills, lathes, rollers

Monitoring production processes and problem solving

Checking finished products for flaws and defects

Keeping records of approved and defective units or final products

Cleaning, de-burring, polishing or grinding metal items

Keeping work area clean and organized

We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate with ambition, attention to detail, and superior work ethic. We are looking for someone that is dedicated to excellence and seeking long term job security. The ideal candidate would also possess the following qualifications:

Experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines

Advanced technical skills

Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs

Great computer and technical skills

Computer Drafting is a plus

Forklift experience is a plus

This is an immediate opening for a full- time, Monday-Friday position. We offer 401k benefits, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, healthcare options, and holiday bonus. The work environment is casual and cheerful.
