The Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator will perform relevant and related services at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.Key Job FunctionsOperate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewageMonitor control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewageObserve variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings, and test results to determine load requirementsStart and stop pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processesMaintain log of operations and record meter readingsGive directions to sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenanceCollect sewage samples using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests using testing equipment, such as colorimeterPerforms other related duties as required
