Informatica MDM Engineer

Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) Engineer to join our Enterprise Data & Insights (ED&I) team. The ED&I team's primary objective is to provide Sinclair stakeholders with reliable and accessible data essential for the efficient functioning of a modern, world-class media company. Our mission involves connecting, democratizing, and managing data to facilitate transformative insights and enabling data-driven decision-making.As an MDM Engineer at Sinclair, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the existing MDM system, which is built on the Informatica platform. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in MDM development, testing, analysis, and implementation, with a specific focus on Informatica MDM. This role requires ensuring the design and integrity of Master Datasets are appropriately merged, cleaned, standardized, and maintained across Sinclair and providing production support for the existing platform.Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced understanding of administrative and development processes, procedures, and policies for the MDM platform.

Identify and facilitate the integration of MDM with other applications to ensure data integrity across Sinclair's systems.

Apply end-to-end technical process knowledge to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements.

Define critical Data Quality metrics and establish a process for measuring and reporting on them.

Participate in discussions with Data Domain owners from various teams to define and maintain relevant hierarchy structures.

Collaborate with existing technology teams across Sinclair to define and govern key attributes for multiple data domains, with a primary focus at this time on the Customer domain.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders from Business and IT to ensure well-coordinated and communicated MDM enhancements.

Troubleshoot MDM-related issues and identify opportunities for improving data management processes.

Resolve complex technical issues related to master data architecture, performance, and various tools, working closely with technical team members.

Review the MDM environment for efficacy, performance improvement (including APIs), and support the overall MDM data governance model.

Participate in deployment activities that may fall in after-hours windows in order to not impact end users.

Provide after-hours support as needed (rarely) to resolve any open issues affecting the platform.

Facilitate issue resolution with the vendor in order to resolve any software bugs or other issues.

Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and best practices.

Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end-users as needed.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in MDM.

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or related field is required.

4+ years of experience in MDM development and implementation.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Informatica MDM Certification is a plus.

Other data-related certifications are a plus.

Prior experience developing and operating MDM Solutions with Informatica is required, either on the Hosted Edition (ICHS) or Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).

Prior experience implementing MDM Solutions with Informatica IDMC Cloud is a plus.

Hands-on experience across various phases of a typical MDM lifecycle.

Strong understanding of data structures and relationships.

Strong data analysis and SQL programming skills.

Ability to understand, assess, and manage source-to-target mapping.

Knowledgeable in technology and software development processes.

Strong presentation development and delivery skills.

Proactive and strategic thinker; able to anticipate issues and plan around them.

Excellent organizational and collaboration skills.

Fair understanding of both waterfall and agile methodologies
