Job Title: Staff AccountantJob DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of General Accounting policies and procedures, ensuring efficient financial management. This role involves assisting with month-end close activities, performing varied accounting tasks, and serving as a financial resource for the organization. The successful candidate will contribute to the accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparation of budget information, and coordination of auditing assignments.Responsibilities
Develop and maintain General Accounting policy and procedure manuals.
Recommend policies and actions to improve financial management and efficiency.
Serve as a financial resource, explaining accounting procedures as needed.
Assist in month-end close activities, including journal entries, budget analysis, and communication of risks and opportunities.
Maintain complex accounting records and prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in auditing assignments to evaluate internal controls, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Assist with the timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Prepare budget information, audit, and tax requests from external auditors and other entities.
Review reconciliations, identify accounting issues, and make recommendations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field
2+ years of experience in full cycle accounting, including month and year-end close activities
Experience with ledger and journal entries
Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures related to accounting
Proficiency with computers and personal productivity applications
Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports
Ability to prepare historical data reports for budget preparation
Ability to assist with financial audits and facilitate organizational effectiveness
Ability to develop work plans, coordinate projects, and oversee project activities
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Demonstrated accuracy and quality improvement in work
Work EnvironmentThis role will start on-site for the first month for training purposes, transitioning to a hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Familiarity with Workday software is preferred but not required. Healthcare experience is highly preferred. This is a contract-to-hire position, with an opportunity for permanent placement based on performance.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
