The Survey Technician I operates surveying instruments and equipment in the field to collect accurate measurements and data for boundary surveys, construction projects, topographic surveys, and other land-surveying activities. They will work under the direction of a licensed surveyor or survey crew chief. This role will require travel.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels, and data collectors.Establish and verify survey control points and benchmarks.Take measurements of angles, distances, elevations, and coordinates.Assist with boundary, topographic, ALTA, and as-built surveys.Read and interpret survey drawings, plans, maps, and field notes.Record field measurements accurately using electronic data collectors and surveying software.Locate property corners, monuments, utilities, and other physical features.Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment.Perform calculations and check field data for accuracy.Assist the survey crew chief and surveyor with daily field operations.Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work area.Occasionally work in difficult terrain, construction sites, and varying weather conditions.
