The Ipswich Housing Authority is seeking a highly motivated, professional, responsible and organized individual for part-time employment as Director of Finance. The position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records and reconciling accounts, coordinates the day-to-day payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Maintains rent rolls, collects and deposits rents, records rental payments and posts adjustments. Manages and records all invoices and payments, posts all mobility payments, landlord checks, prepares all deposits, transfers and withdrawals, and other financial records. The position would also be responsible for coordination of benefits for the Ipswich Housing Authority employees. The position is supported by a fee accountant who creates the financial statements for the Authority. The Director of Finance reports directly to the Executive Director.
Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, accounts payable, and payroll. Understanding of computer-based software system PHA-Web a plus. Proficient in Microsoft office programs. Possess excellent math computation ability as well as excellent organizational, communication and verbal skills. Project a professional company image through in-person and telephone interaction. Spanish/English Bilingual candidates will be strongly considered. Two plus years of related financial experience in a housing authority environment (preferred), government agency, or non-profit organization.
