The Staff Accountant is responsible to help promote and achieve operational excellence and financial performance for this property. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant is expected to significantly contribute to revenue and profit targets, asset management and accounting compliance. The ideal Staff Accountant candidate will have a background in hospitality accounting, three years of relevant experience, HR/Payroll, P&L experience, and leadership qualities.
Responsibilities
Support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Weekly Banking / Posting
Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports
Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies
Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
Participate in Quarterly and annual audits
Enter Financial Transactions into internal Accounting Software (M3)
GL Transaction Posting / Analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
At minimum, an Associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted.
1-3 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent Organizational and Time Management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong General Ledger Knowledge
Strong Financial statement posting and analysis knowledge
Strong Bank transaction posting / reconcilement knowledge
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
